Traveling to Mauna Kea Residences is a breeze and quite scenic with magnificent ocean vistas offset by lava rock outcroppings lining the highway.
From Kona International Airport
Turn left at the traffic light onto Queen Kaahumanu Highway 19, toward Kawaihae. Continue on Highway 19 for 27 miles (approximately 30 minutes).
Upon arrival at The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort, guests should enter through the open-air lobby, then turn left to reach the Mauna Kea Residences office.

The quaint, island-infused, convenient Kona International Airport (KOA) is the closest airport to Mauna Kea Residences; it is about a 35-minute drive to the resort.

Ground Transportation
When visiting Mauna Kea Resort, we highly recommend renting a car at the airport to fully explore The Island of Hawaii with ease. Mauna Kea Resort itself is expansive and does not provide a shuttle to the residences. All residences include complimentary parking for at least one vehicle.
Mauna Kea Resort is partnered with Envoy Hawaii to feature an exclusive electric car rental amenity program for resort guests and rental residents. Featuring Tesla Model 3’s, vehicles can be booked at hourly, daily, or weekly rates. Each vehicle comes equipped with 275 miles of range, complimentary resort valet parking, and inclusive charging fees.
